What is EDG?
Epidermal Dysglycania (EDG) occurs when skin proteoglycans decrease.
The resulting imbalance of proteoglycans under the surface of the skin triggers a faulty immune response, causing the body to accelerate skin cell production. Excessive skin cells are produced and then accumulate on the surface causing shedding, scaling, and plaque formation – all common symptoms of psoriasis.
Proteoglycan Replacement Therapy (PRT) for treating EDG
Zymbilan®-PRT tablets with Vercilex®-F contain a combination of skin specific, natural, marine proteoglycans that have been proven to address EDG by rebalancing the turnover of skin matrix components that are integral to cell growth and differentiation pathways.
The bioactive proteoglycans in Vercilex®-F also express broad anti-inflammatory properties which help alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis.
Zymbilan®-PRT tablets with Vercilex®-F work by:
- Modulating the aberrant immune response and anti-inflammatory properties
- Inhibiting the hyperproliferation of keratinocytes
- Treating EDG by rebalancing the turnover of proteoglycans
- Improving the function of epidermal stem cells
Vercilex®-F was developed by Pharma Medico in Scandinavia as a Proteoglycan Replacement Therapy (PRT) targeted specifically at skin disorders and it is backed by more than 30 years of research. It has been proven effective in addressing a number of inflammatory skin conditions, including:
- Scalp psoriasis
- Chronic plaque psoriasis
- Inverse or flexural psoriasis
- Pustular psoriasis
- Guttate psoriasis
and other fungal infections and retinoid-sensitive disorders, like:
- Dermatitis
- Eczema
- Pityriasis rosea
Zymbilan®-PRT tablets are safe and recognised by health authorities on all continents, including: The FDA, Anvisa, Cofepris, and EFSA (European Food Safety Authority).
